Terminal 7 at JFK International Airport has undergone a massive $65 million redesign by British Airways over the past year…
Holtec International has finished construction on the much anticipated Holtec Technology Campus. The $260 million campus in Camden, NJ stretches across 50 acres along the Delaware River with uninterrupted views of the Philadelphia skyline and the Walt Whitman Bridge. The campus will house a technology center, a large manufacturing facility, and several auxiliary buildings.
The 160,000 square foot LEED Silver office building was designed by USA Architects and features floor to ceiling glass curtains walls to frame the amazing views surrounding the building. The interior spaces include open meeting rooms and offices that further bring the exterior waterfront views all the way inside the building.
As part of this design concept, Concreteworks East was brought onto the project team to collaborate on several open riser stair cases, including the main lobby area stair case. We manufactured custom, completely made to size, precast GFRC treads in our popular Nolita color. The stair treads were fabricated to 1.5 inches thick to maximize the amount of open space through the rise of the stair case. Structural support at the lobby stair cases comes from a large center stringer with a steel tray under each stair tread. Cast-in abrasive strips put the final functional touches onto what became an eye catching staircase in an even more amazing interior space.
